Billabong Zoo Koala & Wildlife Park
Do you want to pet a koala or a dingo, stroke a young croc, or feed a kangaroo by hand? Visit the Billabong Zoo, which is run by a family and is a lot of fun. This popular Port Macquarie attraction allows animal enthusiasts to get up up and personal with their favourite animals.
You can attend free keeper talks every 30 minutes, many of which include gratifying animal encounters, making your day here both educational and exhilaratingly involved. Feed red pandas and cheetahs, learn about spider monkeys, see the meerkat inclosure behind the scenes, see a saltwater croc leap from the water, hold a non-venomous snake, and watch the lions interact with their dedicated keeper. On weekends and during school vacations, reptile exhibitions round out the festivities.
Wombats, wallaroos, and wallabies are among the 80-plus species from Australia and throughout the world on display. After a satisfying day of critter encounters, unwind at the café, which serves international cuisine.
Animal lovers will appreciate the zoo’s conservation efforts, which include a significant koala breeding programme, to which visitors may assist by adopting a koala.
